The Minnesota attorney general and St. Paul mayor have also been subpoenaed as local, state and federal officials have clashed in the aftermath of the shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent.

The Justice Department served federal subpoenas today to Minnesota officials. That includes the Governor and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who the DOJ is investigating over an alleged conspiracy to impede federal immigration agents.

The Department of Justice on Tuesday issued subpoenas to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) for obstructing an immigration enforcement investigation. Walz and Frey have been at the center of city and state opposition in Minneapolis to actions by the Trump administration to deport immigrants.

Tim Walz, Jacob Frey, Kahly Her, Keith Ellison and Mary Moriarty were issued subpoenas by the federal government.

Federal authorities are probing whether Gov. Tim Walz and others conspired to obstruct the administration’s immigration enforcement operation in the state.

Democratic Governor Walz, Mayor Frey and the state's attorney general are among those targeted over anti-ICE protests.
