SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -A man has died after a house fire in Springfield early Sunday morning. According to the Springfield Fire Department, at around 5:30 a.m., crews responded to the 500 block of S. Belcrest Ave. for a house on fire. Reports indicated smoke and flames were visible from the home.

The Springfield Police Department says the victim has been identified as Brandon Watt, 22 According to Lieutenant Daniel Carlson of SPD, officers received a call at around midnight from someone who had heard shots fired near Elm Street and Kimbrough Avenue.

Several southwest Missouri organizations came together to organize a protest march in Springfield Thursday night. It was in response to the killing of Renee Good by an ICE officer in Minneapolis.
