Aston Martin and Honda officially kicked off their works Formula 1 collaboration with a power unit launch event in Tokyo, Japan, with the team believing it now has "all the elements required to fight for victory" in the future.

With the R26’s colour scheme having officially been unveiled, a titanium shade on the front of the car is accents of ‘Lava Red’ in the lining of its airbox and sidepods, with the same red colour being contrasted against black on the rear of the car, all punctuated with sponsorship and the ‘Four Rings’ logo.

Honda has kicked off its new partnership with Aston Martin by launching its 2026 power unit during an event in Tokyo.

John Owen, currently Mercedes’ director of car design, held the role of chief designer at the team from 2010-2023, which covered the second period of sustained F1 success for the giant automotive marque. Owen’s role will be taken over by Giacomo Tortora, who currently acts as Mercedes’ engineering director.

Cadillac F1 team principal Graeme Lowdon says the squad is confident its Ferrari 2025 power unit is fully legal under the new regulations
